BOISE, Idaho - Dan Vogelbach broke a 3-3 tie with a long sixth inning home run, part of a five-run frame, as the Boise Hawks defeated the Everett Aquasox, 9-5, before 3,012 fans at Memorial Stadium.

Vogelbach's homer, his tenth of the season, helped Boise improve to 23-12 in the second half of the season - and moving the club to 36-37 overall.

Following the homer, Rock Shoulders lined a two-run double into the left field corner, Trey Martin doubled home a run, and Stephen Bruno singled in a run, as the Hawks opened an 8-3 lead, improving to 6-1 on the year against Everett.

The Aquasox jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a Patrick Kivlehan triple, but the Hawks rallied two in the second and one in the third to take a 3-1 edge. Everett would tie the score in the fourth on a Alfredo Morales RBI ground out and a passed ball that scored Marcus Littlewood.

Albert Almora, Marco Hernandez, Shoulders, and Bruno all had two hits for the Hawks, as Mike Heesch tossed two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win. Kivlehan went 3-for-4 with an RBI - finishing a homer away from the cycle in the loss for Everett.

Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night, as Justin Amlung meets Victor Sanchez at 6:45 p.m.
