August 9, 2010 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Sussex Skyhawks News Release

Augusta, N.J. - The Skyhawks are proud to announce the recent signings of three pitchers. Right-handed reliever Michael Streaman has resigned with Sussex after being released on July 24, and right-handed starters Will Hassett and Jimmer Kennedy have also joined the team.

In seven relief appearances for the Skyhawks before his release, Streaman pitched 13 innings and accumulated a 4.15 ERA. In his two games since resigning with the club last week, the 24-year-old rookie out of Montclair State University has allowed three runs in 3.1 innings while striking out seven.

Hassett and Kennedy are also rookies, and each spent time in the New York State League before signing with the Skyhawks. The 22-year-old Hassett attended Siena College and is 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA and seven strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched with Sussex. Kennedy, a Rider University graduate, received a no-decision in his first professional start last Thursday after allowing four runs in five innings to the New Jersey Jackals while fanning seven.

In corresponding roster moves, infielder Mike Megale was placed on the inactive list after suffering a torn quadriceps in a game on July 17. Right-handed starters Dan Berlind (sore shoulder) and Jusef Frias (sore ankle) were placed on the disabled list retroactive to their previous respective starts.
