Hawaiian Islanders 2004 Schedule Announced
February 2, 2004 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Hawaiian Islanders News Release
HONOLULU â The Hawaiian Islanders will open their third season of arenafootball2 on the road in Fresno, California on March 27 it was announced today by the league.
The 16-game season will have 12 games against West Division opponents and a home-and-home match up with the Louisville Fire and the Bossier City Battle Wings. The Bakersfield Blitz franchise of 2003 moved to Fresno, CA and became the Central Valley Coyotes. An expansion team (of the same name) will be located in Bakersfield in 2004. The San Diego Riptide rounds out the four-team West. Each West team will face each other four times (two home, two away).
"The old West is back," said Islanders Executive Director Chris Dey. "Bringing Fresno back into the league rekindles the rivalries we had in 2002 and the added games will help build competitive games again this year. I can't wait to get the season started."
Home games are now scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
"When you make plans to come to an Islanders game this season, we want to be entertained from the moment you enter the parking lot," Dey added. "We'll bring back our popular halftime JN Chevrolet Fast Lane to Fame Concert again, but now we're moving our seats closer to the field with our Up Front In the Game seating section. Outside, the kids will have interactive games and activities from Meadow Gold along with entertainment for everyone."
For a limited time, prime season tickets are still available and range from $140 (Lower Bowl Reserved) to $65 for the eight game package. For youth (age 17 and below), prices have dropped to $40 for anywhere in the arena. For more information on ticket, please visit the Hawaiian Islanders web site at www.hawaiianislanders.com or call 53-ARENA.
