Albany Conquest Finding Ways to Spread Some "Love Shorts"

Albany, N.Y., February 2, 2004 â The Albany Conquest of arenafootball2 (af2) have announced that as a Valentine's Day promotion, they are offering limited-edition "Conquest Love Shorts" with the purchase of a pair of $12 tickets, which are valid for any regular season home game. The "Conquest Love Shorts" are a pair of boxers that have red hearts, along with an Albany Conquest team logo. Those interested in purchasing the "Conquest Love Shorts" and tickets can call (518) 487-2222.
"Our fans, especially our female fans, are always looking for gifts for Valentine's Day for their football-loving significant other. "Conquest Love Shorts" and a pair of tickets to a game are the perfect gift," stated Conquest General Manager Robert Zeig.
The "Conquest Love Shorts" promotion includes a thirty-second television commercial that features Conquest Head Coach Steve Matthews, lineman Rich Barlette, quarterback Gus Ornstein, wide receiver Adriel Linyear, and three Treasures dance team members. The commercial will be running on programming that caters to a youthful adult demographic, including Blind Date, Elimidate, and 5th Wheel on WB45. Other programming will include, "Late Night" with Conan O'Brien and Entertainment Tonight on NBC. Fox Network programs, Access Hollywood, Extra, and Extreme Dating will also feature the commercial.
A sixty-second radio commercial featuring Coach Matthews will also be aired on 104.9 LOVE FM, 104.5 The Buzz, and 102.3 KISS FM. All stations will feature on-air promotional giveaways offering listeners a chance to win the "Conquest Love Shorts" and tickets.
This Valentine's Day promotion comes on the heels of the Conquest's Holiday Season promotion that offered a free team jersey with the purchase of season tickets. The Holiday Season promotion equated to nearly 250 season ticket sales during late November and through December.
