Huntsville Havoc News Release

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has traded defenseman Gavin Hodgson and the rights of Justin Schmit to the Twin City Cyclones for defenseman Matt Curley and the rights to Dylan Row.

Curley has played in 29 games for the Cyclones and has 45 penalty minutes. Row has played in 12 games and recorded three assists. He played in 51 games for Fayetteville last season and scored 15 goals and scored 26 assists.

Hodgson has played in 30 games for Huntsville and has one goal and one assist. Schmit played in 15 and had one goal and two assists. He joined Tulsa of the CHL last week.

It was the second trade in two days for the Havoc who sent Justin Keller to Fayetteville yesterday in exchange for Edan Welch and Jordan Weibel. The Havoc had to free up a veteran spot to make room for Welch.

"With the acquisition of Welch in the trade with Fayetteville yesterday, I forced to make another move to clear up a veteran spot," Gibson said. "I appreciate everything that Gavin has done for us and we wish him the best of luck."

The Havoc will travel to Richmond Wednesday and Fayetteville Thursday before returning to CenturyTel Ice on Saturday night to face the Columbus Cottonmouths. The Havoc will wear special jerseys and auction them off after the game with all the benefits going to the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund. Also, the first 1,000 fans that bring an item such as clothes, blankets, disposable cameras, etc. to donate to the fund will receive a Craig Bushey action figurine.
