"I couldn't be happier to be signing with the Huntsville Havoc and have an opportunity to play in front of some of the greatest fans in the SPHL," de Melo said.

MacAskill (6-1, 185) spent the past four seasons playing at Dalhousie University. The Antigonish, Nova Scotia native played in 126 games and scored four goals and recorded 27 assists. He also played in 313 career junior games and scored 26 goals and recorded 102 assists.

"I'm excited to see what Ben can do at training camp," Detulleo said. "He'll bring versatility to our defensive corps because he can be used on both sides of the puck."

"Huntsville looks like a great place to play and I am excited to be a member of the Havoc," MacAskill said.

The Havoc open the season on the road on October 23rd at Columbus. The home opener on Pharmacy First Ice will be November 10th against Knoxville.
