Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators put up an offensive onslaught for the second straight night on their way to a 14-7 road win over the Akron Aeros. Luke Montz drove in six runs as he and Ian Desmond each homered twice.
Akron scored single runs in every inning from the second through the sixth, but the Senators put up big innings in the middle frames. Aeros starter Chuck Lofgren issued a pair of two-out walks in the fourth inning and Montz followed with a three-run homer to left to make it 4-2 Harrisburg.
After the Aeros closed it to 4-3, Harrisburg opened the lead back up with another three-run inning. William Bergolla singled home a run and Justin Maxwell ripped an RBI triple to center to make it 7-3. Desmond's two-run homer in the sixth gave the Senators a 9-4 advantage.
The Aeros again closed in with a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 9-5, but Montz clobbered his second three-run bomb of the night as part of a four-run seventh inning and Harrisburg blew it open to 13-5. Andrew LeFave bounced an RBI single in the eighth inning to make it 14-5 and Akron plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Bobby Brownlie stayed perfect as he picked up the win to move to 3-0. Lofgren (0-2) took the loss.
The Senators improved to 14-7 with the victory as the Aeros fell to 7-13. The teams play Saturday and Sunday at 2:05 PM in Akron.
