San Angelo would score their first run in the bottom half of the third. Butch Ballez led the inning off with a double, a ground ball to second base from Bradley Goldsmith moved him to third. With two outs in the inning, an infield single from Ronnie Gaines put the Colts on the board as they trailed the Broncs 5-1. However that would be the final run San Angelo would plate.

Brian Henschel (4-1) surrendered his first loss of the season managing seven innings while giving up 12 hits and three earned runs.
