Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs selected forward Chase Harrington eighth overall to headline their 2022 WHL Prospects Draft class on Thursday. They had eight picks within the first 100 overall, selecting Harrington, F Owen Martin (27th), F Hayden Paupanekis (49th), D Matthew Lesyk (58th), D Adam Boatter (67th), D Owen Schoettler (71st), F Trennen Redlick (93rd) and D Parker Seymour (96th).

In total, the Chiefs made 13 picks in the draft, including seven forwards, five defensemen, and one goalie. Alberta was well-represented, with six players hailing from the province. Four came from British Columbia, two from Manitoba and one from Texas.

Players selected in this year's WHL draft are first eligible to join the Chiefs as full-time players during the 2022-23 season.
