August 13, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Portland Beavers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - "Get your motor runnin' ... head out on the highway" ... and cruise out to PGE Park Thursday night on your Harley to be part of a record-setting evening.
On "Harley Night" at PGE Park, the Portland Beavers and Destination Harley-Davidson are teaming up in an effort to set a world record for most ceremonial first pitches thrown from a "Hog" at a professional baseball game before Thursday's series finale against the Nashville Sounds.
The commemorative event is scheduled for approximately 7 p.m. Because of the first-pitch ceremony, the start of the game has been pushed back to 7:20 p.m.
A parade of Harleys will depart from Destination Harley-Davidson at 5 p.m. on their way to PGE Park. Once they arrive, they will invade the field and park near the pitcher's mound, where they will set up for the record-setting ceremonial first pitch.
Free secure parking for Harley riders is available next to the ballpark.
Harley riders taking part will receive a discounted ticket with part of the proceeds benefiting Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.
WHAT: Harley Night at PGE Park.
WHERE: PGE Park, 1844 SW Morrison.
WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 14 - 7 p.m. (gates open at 6 p.m.)
