HarbourCats, Collins Barrow Sign Multi-Year Deal

May 20, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Victoria HabourCats News Release

VICTORIA, B.C. - Baseball is a game that thrives on stats and numbers, and follows trends.

No one knows trends and statistics better than Collins Barrow, the locally-based Chartered Accountant firm that has stepped to the plate to handle those business services for the Victoria HarbourCats. As their slogan says, their work is 'Clarity Defined.'

Collins Barrow and the HarbourCats have entered a three-year agreement - who doesn't like to talk long-term contracts in baseball, right? - that will see the West Coast League baseball franchise find further stability in the Victoria market.

Collins Barrow is the "Official Accounting, Tax and Business Advisory Firm" of the Victoria HarbourCats Baseball Club.

"I can't tell you how important Collins Barrow has become to our operation, and how impressed we've been with their ability to see the light in any issue we've brought to them," said Jim Swanson, General Manager and Vice-President of the Victoria HarbourCats.

"Our local ownership group saw a need and found a willing partner right away with Collins Barrow, particularly working with firm Principals Clark Lawrence and Todd Troyer and their team. What adds to it is they are all baseball fans, from their reception desk to the offices of the firm's Principals, and they recognize the value the HarbourCats bring to this community. We're very pleased to have them on our team, leading us into an exciting future."

Fans at the park will see the distinctive Collins Barrow logo at Sports Traders Diamond at RAP all season, both on the outfield fence and on the team's signature video scoreboard in left field. A trivia feature focusing on statistics will be a staple of all HarbourCats home games, sponsored by Collins Barrow. Collins Barrow is a national firm with a local history and focus, comprised of individuals who are all very active in the South Vancouver Island community.

"It is our pleasure to partner with the HarbourCats and help them as they enter an exciting time in the franchise's history, starting their third season in Victoria," said Clark Lawrence.

"We are supportive of local sports teams - and we are HarbourCats fans. We recognize what they do for baseball and for our community, and it is a natural to align with the organization."
