Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS - Justin Hancock allowed one run over six innings for the San Antonio Missions as they evened the series with a 5-1 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders on Friday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Alberth Martinez sparked the Missions offense with three hits, including a two-run homer in the seventh inning.

Hancock (7-6) was dominant through six innings as he allowed only two hits. The right-hander exited in seventh after three straight walks loaded the bases, but only one runner scored and he picked up his seventh victory for the Missions.

San Antonio took an early lead thanks to a first inning run. Luis Domoromo crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly from Hunter Renfroe to put the Missions up 1-0.

The Missions added to their lead in the third. Domoromo scored for the second time on an RBI-single from Yeison Asencio. Asencio finished with three hits in the contest. With two outs, Frisco starter Frank Lopez struck out Griff Erickson, but a wild pitch allowed Erickson to reach safely and Martinez scored to put San Antonio on top, 3-0.

Lopez (3-5) lasted four innings for the Riders as he allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits in the losing effort.

The Missions received two insurance runs when Martinez drilled the two-run shot in the seventh inning to give San Antonio a 5-0 lead. Frisco had the bases loaded and no outs in the seventh, but only managed one run. Lewis Brinson picked up an RBI on a ground out, and Stephen Kohlscheen worked out of the jam. He tossed the final three innings in scoreless fashion to earn his second save and close out the 5-1 victory for San Antonio.

LHP Chad Bell gets the nod for the Riders (19-22, 48-63) Saturday night. RHP Casey Kelly takes the ball for San Antonio (17-25, 48-64) in the 7:05 start. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a Derek Holland RoughRiders bobblehead. Holland is slated for a rehab start at Dr Pepper Ballpark on Sunday.
