Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs didn't like the outcome during their last visit to Sudbury in October when they lost 6-4 and were hoping for a different result Friday night. They got it as they downed the Wolves 3-2.
Both teams had chances early, but goalies Kaden Fulcher and Jake McGrath were sharp to start the game. The Bulldogs got on the board at 14:59 of the first on a nice play from Michael Cramarossa. He broke in on a 2 on 1 with Isaac Nurse, but instead dropped the puck to the trailer on the play Brandon Saigeon (4) who gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Hamilton out-shot Sudbury 8-7.
The Wolves tied the game 1-1 at the :27 mark of the second period, but that was the only time they would beat Fulcher. The Bulldogs re-took the lead at 5:59 as Trent Fox (3) converted a nice passing play with Adam Laishram and Luke Kutkevicius on what turned out to be the game winning goal. Connor Walters (1) added some insurance 38 seconds later to make it 3-1. Mackenzie Entwistle and Jack Hanley assisted on the goal. The Bulldogs dominated the shot clock, outshooting the Wolves 16-9.
Sudbury stepped up the offense, out-shot the Bulldogs 10-5, but couldn't beat Fulcher as there was no scoring in the third period.
Final shots of goal were 29-26 in favour of Hamilton.
With the win, the Bulldogs record is now 12-6-3-0 with their road record improving to 8-4.
The northern road trip wraps up Saturday night when they make their only regular season visit to Sault Ste. Marie to face the Greyhounds at 7pm.
