Peterborough Petes News Release

Peterborough, ON- The NHL Central Scouting Service released its annual preliminary players to watch list ahead of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Five Petes players, including Matyas Svoboda, Zach Gallant, C.J. Clarke, Nick Grima, and Nick Isaacson were named to the list.

Svoboda maintains his 'B' rating on the players to watch list after a successful season with KLH Chomutov in the Czech U18 league last year, and a strong start to his OHL rookie season. The big forward won a gold medal with Czech Republic in the 2016 U18 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka championship this summer.

Gallant, Clarke, Grima, and Isaacson each earned 'C' ratings, indicating that they are potential fourth to sixth round selections in the NHL Entry Draft. Gallant (1st round, 5th overall), Grima (2nd round, 25th overall), Clarke (2nd round, 29th overall), and Isaacson (5th round, 86th overall) were all selected by the Petes in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

In addition, four Petes prospects drafted in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection were named to the list, including Bryce Misley (106th overall), Logan Hutsko (117th overall), Cameron Crotty (136th overall), and Logan Cockerill (266th overall).
