Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release

(Waldorf, MD. May 24, 2015)---On a bright and sunny 78 degree day at Regency Furniture Stadium, it was RHP Jake Hale that shined the brightest for the Blue Crabs, as he went a complete game 9.0 innings, striking out seven, allowing five hits, and walking three to send the Blue Crabs to the 1-0 victory this afternoon. The Blue Crabs are now 18-12, and sit atop the standings in the Freedom Division.

Southern Maryland got on the board in the bottom of the third. Daryle Ward led things off with a single to left center field, followed by a Jamar Walton double, and a Casey Frawley walk to load the bases. The next hitter Antone DeJesus drove in Ward with a sacrifice fly to right center field to bring the eventual final score to 1-0.

RHP Shunsuke Watanabe pitched well for Lancaster, going seven innings, allowing a run on three hits, while striking out six and walking two. The submarine style right hander though couldn't get any run support from his offense that managed just five hits on the afternoon.

Game four of the four game series is set to take place tomorrow at Regency Furniture Stadium. It is a special 1:05 start time. RHP Shaun Garceau (1-2, 2.88) will throw for Southern Maryland, while, LHP Casey Fossum (0-0, 4.50) will pitch for Lancaster.
