Hainsey signs with Bulldogs

The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today they have signed defenceman Ron Hainsey to a contract.

Hainsey, a 23-year-old native of Bolton, Connecticut, enters his third season with the Bulldogs. Last season he played in 54 games in Hamilton, registering 31 points on 7 goals and 31 assists, while accumulating 35 minutes in penalties. The 6'3, 211 pound defenceman also saw action in 11 games with the Montreal Canadiens in 2004-05, recording one goal and one assist, along with four penalty minutes.

The Montreal Canadiens selected Hainsey in the first round, 13th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs will open the 2004-05 regular season on the road on Friday, October 15th, when they make their first ever visit to Edmonton to face the Road Runners.
