Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release
The Ohio Valley Greyhounds are pleased to announce Shawn Hackett as United Indoor Football's Week Eight Defensive Player of the Week. Following the Greyhoundsdecisive43-26victoryoverLexington on Friday night, UIF league voters voted Hackett the winner following his strong outing. The former West Virginia Mountaineer and defensive captain of the Hounds had a typical night at the office. The "Sandman" registered six solo stops and was in on five assists giving him 11 tackles on the night. Ohio Valley held the explosive Horsemen offense to their second lowest point total of the season and limited Lexington to just 10 first down.
Two Fort Wayne players took the offensive and special teams honors. Former Greyhound Jeremy Dutcher grabbed seven catches for 94 yards in the Freedom's win over Sioux City while kicker Billy Bennett connected on a 52-yard field goal and hit six-of-eight on point after attempts.
