May 12, 2005 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Evansville BlueCats News Release

The Evansville Bluecats (4-2) will take on a UIF South Division opponent when they take on the Tennessee Valley Raptors (2-4) this Saturday night at Roberts Stadium. The Bluecats currently sit all alone in first place in the UIF South Division, one half game ahead of Lexington. The Bluecats record is good for third best in the league overall, behind only Fort Wayne (6-0) and Sioux City (6-1).

Saturday's game will be the second contest between Evansville and Tennessee Valley this season. Evansville was victorious in their week one match up, pulling out a thrilling 53-51 victory when wide receiver Gerald Clark hauled in an 11 yard touchdown pass from Ramon Robinson as time expired.

This home game, sponsored by Old National Bank, wraps up a three game home stand over four weeks for the Bluecats. Evansville was idle last weekend. Two weeks ago, the Bluecats pulverized the Omaha Beef 52-23 at Roberts Stadium to stay unbeaten at home this season.

Evansville Bluecats Head Coach Ollie Guidry discussed the upcoming game against the Raptors, "I've noticed that they've made some changes to their roster since the last time we've seen them. It seems like it's been a long time since we played that first game. We're really excited about the opportunity to get out there and play again after the bye week."

Last weekend, Tennessee Valley lost to Tupelo 43-24 at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo, MS.

The official 2005 Evansville Bluecats Cheerleaders poster will make their debut at this Saturday's game. Posters are available for $5 and the cheerleaders will be available throughout the game to autograph them.

The Evansville Bluecats are putting their perfect 4-0 record at home on the line this Saturday night. Kickoff for this Saturday's game is 7:05pm and the game is sponsored by Old National Bank. Gates at Roberts Stadium open at 6pm. As always, fans are invited to arrive early and tailgate in the stadium parking lot with your fellow Bluecats fans. The first 3000 fans in the stadium will receive a free Evansville Bluecats Spirit Sign and the first 1500 lucky fans will receive the official 2005 Bluecats Thunder Stix from Old National Bank.

The Bluecats are also excited to announce that local motorcycle club, ABATE, American Bikers Aim Toward Education – Region 8, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties, will be taking part in the pregame ceremonies.

At half time, the MDA will be honoring Mike Blake for his 35 years of service to the MDA telethon.
