Evansville BlueCats News Release
The Evansville BlueCats will discontinue operations in Evansville at the close of business on Friday, August 24, 2007.
Evansville BlueCats owner and President John Voliva said, "This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make but one we felt was necessary due to a variety of reasons. Hopefully, we can find a local investor willing to operate the team in Evansville. We still feel that the BlueCats offer a great entertainment choice to the residents of the Tri-State area but we are not the one to continue the operation of the team.
The Evansville BlueCats would like to sincerely thank all of the fans and season ticket holders who have supported the team over the past five seasons.
The BlueCats would also like to thank all of their corporate sponsors, especially Old National Bank, Acclaim Graphics, Fifth Third Bank, Expressway Dodge, Turoni's Pizzery & Brewery, ProRehab, Schultheis Insurance, Evansville Courier & Press, SWAT Pest, and Altstadt Office City who have been with the team every season.
