Fort Wayne Freedom News Release
The UIF announced Player-of-the-Week awards for week 8 and the Freedom garnered two of them. Jeremy Dutcher was named offensive player and Billy Bennett was named special teams player of the week for their efforts in the win against the Sioux City Bandits last Saturday.
Dutcher led the offensive scoring last weekend. He averaged 13.4 yards a catch during the game while pulling in 7 catches for 94-yards. Dutcher's four touchdowns came at the right time throughout the night for the Freedom.
This is the second player of the week award for Billy Bennett this season. Billy kicked an impressive 52-yard field goal that brought the Freedom fans to their feet. He also went 6 for 8 on PATs that all played a significant part of the Freedom's 57-50 victory.
The Freedom look to remain unbeaten as they take on the Peoria Roughriders this Friday, May 13th at the Memorial Coliseum. Kickoff is set for 7:30PM. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the Coliseum Ticket Office or through Ticketmaster.
