Hackenberg Bobble, Fireworks, Dennis Haskins Highlight Spikes Homestand

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - State College Spikes fans can enjoy a jam-packed six-game homestand from August 9-14. Highlights include Saturday's *Christian Hackenberg Bobblehead Giveaway, *a pair of fantastic FIREWORKS shows, the return of *$1 Beer Thursday*, and a special appearance by *Dennis Haskins*, who played "Mr. Belding" on TV's "Saved by the Bell," on Sunday.

The first-place Spikes take on the West Virginia Black Bears (Pittsburgh Pirates) for a trio of 7:05 games Tuesday through Thursday, with the Staten Island Yankees (New York Yankees) providing the opposition on the weekend.

Hackenberg, the Nittany Lions' all-time leader in career passing yardage, career touchdown passes and single-game passing yardage, will be honored with a bobblehead presented by *The Nittany Lion Inn & The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel* and *ESPN Radio 1450* that will go to the first 1,000 fans of all ages on Saturday, when gates open at 6 p.m. for a 7:05 p.m. game.

Then on Sunday, class will be in session for Spikes fans on Sunday as Dennis Haskins comes to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for *Salute to the '90s Night.* Haskins will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the 6:05 p.m. game against Staten Island, then sign autographs as part of a meet and greet with fans during the game, presented by *Comcast Spotlight*. Plus, the man who ruled the halls at Bayside High will participate in on-field contests and guest on *Spikes Live! *presented by *Mount Nittany Health *before the game.

The skies over Happy Valley will also light up twice this weekend with a fantastic FIREWORKS show presented by *Penn State Health *after Friday's 7:05 p.m. game and another presented by *Nuts For You *following Sunday's game.

In addition, the first 1,000 fans at Friday's game will receive a *Patrotic Shirtsey Giveaway* presented by *ServiceMaster by Holobinko and Merry Maids* in honor of the ongoing games in South America.

Thursday is Ladies Night, featuring *Digger Dog's Diamond Dig* with a *$1,000 Confer's Jewelers Diamond Giveaway* for one lucky winner presented by *Columbia Gas of PA*. Plus, Diamond Club seats will be just $8.11 each on that night for *Call 811 Night*, and it's a *$1 Beer Thursday*, presented by *BIG Froggy 101*, with $1 12-oz. domestic draft beers available from 6-8 p.m.

The weekend also features a trio of Community Nights, presented by *CATACOMMUTE*, with *Philipsburg-Osceola Community Night *on Friday, *Mifflin & Juniata County Night *presented by *The Sentinel *and *WHVL-TV* on Saturday, and *Bellefonte Community Night *on Sunday.

All three Community Nights also feature a FREE Kids Zone! presented by *Friends of Jake Corman*, and kids can run the bases after all three games thanks to *Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc.*

The fun begins with *$2 Walking Taco Tuesday*, presented by *B94.5*, with $2 Walking Tacos available at the Salsa stand behind Section 104 behind home plate. Fans can then enjoy a *Half-Craft Wednesday*, presented by *93.7 The BUS*. The Spikes' extensive selection of fine craft beers will be available at half-price from 6-8 p.m.
