WENATCHEE, Wash. - After winning a nailbiter Friday against the Kelowna Rockets, the Wenatchee Wild dug a little deeper and found another close win Saturday in Spokane.

Gabriel Guilbault notched his second career multi-point game, and Alex Andre's goal with 26.7 seconds left in the second period stood up as the winner as Wenatchee edged the Chiefs 3-2 at Numerica Veterans Arena. A win Sunday would even up the season series as the teams meet for the final time in 2025-26, while Wenatchee will close the series with wins in two of three on the Chiefs' home ice.

Spokane registered the game's first five shots, and drew first blood with nine minutes remaining in the first period, when Coco Armstrong poked the puck by Cal Conway after a long bounce off the end boards. With 2:52 left in the period, Wenatchee evened things up when Levi Benson collected a rebound off of Josh Toll's shot from the left point and walked it around Linus Vieillard's left leg before sliding it into the net.

The Wild earned some breathing room in the second period, returning to the dressing room with a two-goal lead - Guilbault's toss from the right point found its way to the front of the net, where Sam Elliott poked it into the air for a swat from Mason Kraft with 8:44 on the clock. Andre's goal came off another toss from the right point, settling at his feet before turning and tossing it to the back of the net for the two-goal lead.

Wenatchee's lead narrowed eight minutes into the third, when Chase Harrington's throw from the right half evaded the traffic at the front of the net and found its way through. Spokane finished the night on the power play, getting two shots on the net in the final 1:44 with Wild players blocking several others.

Guilbault's two assists marked his first multi-point night since a Kelowna Rockets win at the Penticton Vees on November 5, and Conway stopped 33 shots to earn his sixth win of the season. Vieillard turned aside 23 Wenatchee chances in the loss, and the teams combined to finish a perfect 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

The Wild climbed to 21-28-3-2 with the win, while Spokane dropped back to 26-26-1-0 with the loss. The win and Victoria's loss in Penticton put Wenatchee within six points of the Chiefs for the Western Conference's final playoff spot, with 14 games remaining on the regular season schedule.

After traveling to Spokane Saturday, Wenatchee returns home for the back half of the home-and-home pair Sunday as the Wild celebrate their annual Teacher Appreciation Night presented by Gesa Credit Union. Sunday's game is also the second-to-last Fred Meyer Sunday Funday promotion for 2025-26 - the opening puck drop at Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee is scheduled for 4 p.m., with live coverage on Newsradio 560 KPQ and Victory+.

Tickets for Sunday's game and all regular-season Wild home games are on sale now by phone at 509-888-7825, or by visiting the team office at Town Toyota Center. Updated news and information on Wild hockey are always available through the team's website and on the team's social media platforms on Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube.
