With a couple of overtime games and 2-1 finals, the Storm picked up three of a possible four points this past weekend. On Friday night, Matt Kennedy scored his eighth of the season late in the third forcing overtime and giving the Storm an automatic one point despite a 2-1 loss. Saturday night the Storm traveled to Erie to face off against the Otters for the fourth time this season. Erie scored a goal with one second remaining in the first to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Mike McLean scored the equalizer on the powerplay in the third to once again put the Storm in overtime for the second time in as many games. This time the Storm were victorious when Ryan Pottruff scored his t hird of the year 3:15 into the extra frame. With three points this weekend, the Storm improved their record to 22-15-2-4 and currently sit third in the Midwest Division, two points ahead of the Owen Sound Attack.
Guelph Storm Grand & Toy Player of the Week (Week ending January 21st)
Mike McLean-The fourth year forward started the week scoring the overtime winner against the Rangers on Tuesday's 2-1 road win at Kitchener. Friday night at home, the 21 year old assisted on the only Storm goal in the 2-1 overtime loss against the Sting. Saturday night in Erie, McLean scored the equalizer on the power play to force overtime in the 2-1 Storm win over the Otters. Through 42 games this season, the Oshawa native has 23 goals and 18 assists for 41 points. McLean is tied with Jamie Arniel for the team league in points, goals and assists, but sits alone with the lead in shorthanded goals and powerplay goals.

The Owen Sound Attack enter the "Eye of the Storm" on Friday for the front end of a home and home that has the Storm travel to Harry Lumley Arena on Saturday for a 7:30 pm start. Friday's match-up marks the fifth time these two teams have faced off against each other this year. The Storm won the most recent contest 4-2 on December 8th. Jamie Arniel and Mike McLean scored on the powerplay to solidify the win and give the Storm a very important two points. Guelph has had the edge in regular season play against Owen Sound so far this year beating the Attack three out of four times. The only loss was a 3-2 shootout loss in Owen Sound back on December 9th. After this weekend, the final time these clubs will play each other this year is t he last game of the regular season when Guelph travels to Owen Sound on March 17th.

Friday night is Storm Wall Calendar Night where the first 3,000 fans to enter the game will get a free Storm wall calendar for 2007-08. Via Rail is also in attendance handing out over $2,000 in VIA Rail Travel Vouchers.
Sunday January 21st: Erie Otters at Guelph Storm, 3:00 pm
Erie travels to Guelph on Sunday to play the Storm for the second time in a week. Last Saturday the Storm beat the Otters 2-1 in overtime when Ryan Pottruff scored his third of the year for the game winner. The regular season series between these two teams is tied at two with each team winning once on home ice and once on the road. The first two contests belonged to the Otters who beat the Storm 6-5 in a shootout on home ice and 2-1 in Guelph. The Storm defeated the Otters last Saturday in Erie as well as in Guelph during the last home game before the Christmas break. Jamie Arniel scored twice in the 6-3 win and the Storm out shot the Otters 36-19. After Sunday, the next time these two teams face each other will be the last of the season on Wednesday, January 24th.

Guelph Storm Town Hall Meeting
After the game in Pub 101on Friday January 26th against the Barrie Colts, the Guelph Storm will host the second "Town Hall Meeting" of the 2006-07 season. Storm President Elliott Kerr will be on hand as well as Head Coach/GM Dave Barr and two Storm players to answer any questions or concerns fans in attendance may have.
MacDonald Named to ECHL All-Star Team
Former Storm goaltender Ryan MacDonald has been added to the National Conference roster for next week's RBK Hockey ECHL All-Star Game in Boise, Idaho. MacDonald replaces Victoria goaltender Julien Ellis who is recalled to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.
MacDonald is unbeaten in regulation in his last 12 starts, posting a 10-0-2 record. MacDonald has started nine games during the Falcons' current 11-game unbeaten streak, going 7-0-2 with a 1.77 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage.
