
Grybash, Cats blank Aviators 11-0

Dan Grybash tossed eight shutout innings and the Cats scored seven runs in the eighth inning as the Cats' defeated Coastal Bend 11-0 Wednesday night at LaGrave Field.
The victory, combined with St. Paul's win over Pensacola put the Cats in a three-way, first-place tie atop the American Association South.
Grybash allowed just two hits in eight innings. He struck out six and walked three as he collected his third straight win.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Cats who took an early 1-0 lead on Carlos Adolfo's sixth homer of the season in the second inning. The Cats added two runs in the third to make it 3-0.
Jordan Foster's RBI single in the fifth made it 4-0 and the Cats poured on seven runs in the eighth inning against reliever JR Pickens to break the game open. The Cats sent 12 men to the plate in the eighth with Kip Harkrider and Adolfo contributing two-run singles to the outburst.
Adolfo was 3-for-4 in the game with four runs batted in and finished the night a triple shy of the cycle.
Ricky Stover (2-3) suffered the loss as he permitted four runs on seven hits in seven innings of work for Coastal Bend, which has now lost seven straight games.
The Cats try for a four-game series sweep on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m .Ryan Weems (2-4) will pitch fo rthe Cats. Lefty Pedro Flores (2-2) takes the hill for Coastal Bend.
