Kalamazoo, Mich - After a two and a half hour rain delay, the Kalamazoo Growlers beat the Kenosha Kingfish by a score of 5-1.

Rain and hail delayed the 5:05 p.m. start back to 7:25 p.m.

Growlers pitching held the Kingfish in check and allowed just six hits and gave up no walks.

Growlers Starter Eric Hall dominated the Kingfish in six innings on the mound. He gave up four hits with one earned run and no walks.

Karl Sorenson (St. Cloud State) put the Growlers on the board in the third inning with a double that drove in an RBII. He went 2-for-3 with two RBI's, his batting average is .345 on the season. Jesse Puscheck (Canisius College) went 1-for-3 with two RBI's and a run as well.

The Growlers improve to (9-13) in the second half of the season in the Northwoods League South Division and head to Wisconsin to take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at 7:05 p.m.

Kalamazoo returns home on Wednesday, July 30 to take on cross town rival the Battle Creek Bombers in a home and home double header, the first game will be played in Battle Creek at 11:00 a.m. The next game will be played in Kalamazoo at Homer Stryker Field at 7:05 p.m.

Wednesday, July 30 is the world's largest cowbell ensemble Guinness World Record attempt. The first 750 fans in the ballpark will receive a cow bell courtesy of Bell's Brewery. Then later that game the Growlers will lead fans in a song, breaking the world record.
