Growlers Drop Final Game at Pit Spitters Park

Traverse City, Mich. - The Kalamazoo Growlers fell to the Traverse City Pit Spitters 8-0 and fall to 0-6 at Pit Spitters Park in 2019.

There wasn't very much offense for the Growlers, as winning pitcher Chad Patrick (4-4, Purdue Northwest) allowed only three hits in the ballgame. The rest of the Traverse City bullpen combined for two walks and a strikeout after Patrick went seven innings, striking out seven.

Kalamazoo got two hits in the third, one by Jake Topolski (Duke) and the other by Zack Gelof (UVA). The only other hit came from Rudy Maxwell (Duke) in the fourth.

JT Rogoszewski (2-1, Central Michigan) was the losing pitcher for the Growlers after going just one inning, allowing two earned runs on one hit, three walks and one strikeout.

Traverse City scored four in the first, one in the fifth, and three in the sixth during the shutout loss for Kalamazoo.

The Growlers recorded only nine hits in the entire series, as they were shutout in both ballgames.

The Pit Spitters also claimed the Great Lakes East season title with the victory.

The Kalamazoo Growlers return to action tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. against the Rockford Rivets at Homer Stryker Field.
