
Error Bug Bites Lakeshore in Loss

Lakeshore Chinooks News Release
Fond Du Lac, WI - Jarod Large would take the mound for the Chinooks in game number one of the series against the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders. Coming into tonight's action, Large held 2-2 record and season earned run average of 4.13.
Jake Thompson would get things stated offensively for Lakeshore with a single. His continues to stay locked in at the plate. Fond Du Lac would work around the two out single to move to the bottom of the first. The Dock Spiders would scoreless in their half of the first.
After a scoreless inning from Lakeshore, the Dock Spiders would tack on the first runs of the game. Consecutive errors by the Chinooks allowed the Dock Spiders to keep the pressure on the base paths. Two runs would come across for Fond Du Lac. In inning number three, both teams would be retired in order. The third also saw Jonah Nosek sub in for Large. Large finished with three strikeouts in two innings of work.
The fourth inning was a repeat of the third as both teams went down 1-2-3. Nosek had all thin working as he would follow his 1-2-3 fourth with a spotless fifth inning of work. The Lakeshore bats were awakened in the top of the sixth. Following a Gunner Hellstrom single, the two out rally began. Cole Barr starting the rally with a single and Thompson would be hit by the next pitch. Daryl Myers would settle in the box and look at the first pitch. Myers has been a clutch hitter all year for Lakeshore and the next pitch would rove just that. Myers laced a triple and the Chinooks grabbed the lead. Griffin Doersching would ground out to first to end the inning.
With two runners on in the bottom of the sixth, Fond Du lac looked to answer with runs of their own. Two outs would be recoded before a single drove in one run for Fond Du Lac. Lakeshore would lead 4-3 after Fond Duc Lac answered. Lakeshore would be retired in order. Brendan McGuigan would sub in for Jonah Nosek in the bottom of the seventh inning. Nosek worked four innings, recorded two strikeouts, and allowed only one run.
McGuigan would start the seventh off by hitting batter. The follwing batter would fly out and McGuigan would induce a double play to get out of the inning. With two outs in the top of the eighth, Cole Barr would double and another two out rally would be stated by the Chinooks. Barr would steal third and a wild pitch would allow him to score. The Chinooks grabbed a much-needed insurance run. Thompson would single but Myers would strikeout to end the inning. With a runner on and two outs on the board, Fond Du Lac batter Cam McMillan would walk. Fond Du lac had two runners on with two outs. The Dock Spiders would single, and they were down by one run. Otto Grimm would double in tow runs to give the Dock Spiders the lead.
Griffin Doersching doubled to start of the ninth. The Chinooks would be turned away as the next three batters would be sat down. Lakeshore fell to Fond Du Lac 6-5.
Lakeshore travels to take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters tomorrow. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
