Mallards Looking to Sweep Woodchucks in Final Regular Season Meeting

MADISON, Wis. - Last night the Madison Mallards (37-24) defeated the Wausau Woodchucks (28-33) 4-3. The Mallards were lead by EJ Ranel (Lenoir-Rhyne), who hammered his fifth homerun of the season in the top of the ninth to propel the Mallards to their 37 victory of the summer.

Tonight, the Mallards and Woodchucks will compete in their series finale at the Duck Pond. The game marks the last time the two will meet for the regular season. The overall meeting record for the season is 7-4, in favor of Madison. The first series of the summer for the cross-state rivals resulted in Mallards a sweep.

Grabbing his eleventh start of the season is RHP Quinn Gudaitis (Illinois Wesleyan). Gudaitis has thrown 47.2 innings, earning 46 strikeouts and 30 walks. He holds a 5-3 record, leading the Mallards pitching staff in wins for the summer. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
