Kalamazoo, Mich - The Kalamazoo Growlers (4-1) have extended their win streak to four in the early games of their inaugural season.
The Growlers beat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-3) tonight in Northwoods League play 14-7. The Growlers powerful offense continues fire on all cylinders, scoring more than 10 runs in both their last two games.
The Growlers batting parade started early, scoring five runs in the first inning.
First Baseman, Nick Yarnall (Pittsburgh University) added to the onslaught going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs hitting a towering shot over the right field wall into the Bells Bear Cave.
Ryan Spaulding (Ball State) also had a solid outing in the batter's box for the Growlers, with two hits and three RBIs.
Along with the Growlers potent offense tonight, Dillon Haviland (Duke University) posted an impressive nine strikeouts in five innings, not allowing a single hit and grabbing the win.
The Growlers will continue their five game home stand tomorrow against the Rafters at 5:05 p.m. at Homer Stryker Field.
Tomorrow, The Growlers will host Eaton Family Sunday Fun Day will be in conjunction with the series finale against the Rafters. Super Hero/Villain night sponsored by Pure Green Lawn will allow kids 12 and under, who attend the game in a costume to receive a complimentary ticket. A Drawstring Backpack giveaway will be presented by Crown Trophy to the first 500 fans that enter the stadium.
