The Blue Anchors were first on the board in the top of the third inning against Drasen Johnson. Dalton Leuschke singled to start the frame and moved to second when Ryan Busch reached on an error by the third baseman. Alex Fink squared around to bunt both runners into scoring position and beat out the throw to load the bases with no outs. Rickey Sanchez grounded into a double play but was able to bring home Leuschke and give Alexandria a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third, the Bucks used a series of Blue Anchor mistakes to regain the lead against starter Robbie Mouton. After allowing just one baserunner in the first two innings, Mouton walked the leadoff batter Jake Riffice. Zach Fricke bunted back to Mouton who couldn't come up with the ball clean, putting two runners on. After the strike out of Riffice, Fricke walked. Hill then grounded to second baseman Dylan Dresel who flipped to Busch who tried to turn a double play but his throw got away to score Pollakov and push the Bucks' lead to 8-1.
In the top of the eighth the Anchors put together one last rally, this time against reliever Dustin Carlson. Busch led off by reaching on an error and he went to third on a one-out double by Sanchez.
