SAUGET, IL. - The Grizzlies' offense exploded for twelve runs on fifteen hits in a 12-10 win Thursday night at GCS Ballpark, taking the rubber game of a three-game series against the Frontier Greys.

Gateway (49-41) jumped out to a 9-2 lead at the end of three innings. The Grizzlies touched up Greys' starting pitcher Keith Picht (2-9) for ten runs in just three innings of work.

Michael Wing got the scoring started with a run-scoring single in the first inning. In the top of the second, the Greys (29-60) plated two runs off of Grizzlies' starting pitcher Tucker Jensen (9-4).

The Grizzlies then scored four runs a piece in both the second and third innings. TJ Bennett smacked a two-RBI double in the second, while Ben Waldrip lashed a two-run single in the third inning to make it 9-2.

The Greys inched closer in the fifth inning on Chris Ellison's 3-run homer, but Gateway's Kale Kiser responded with a solo blast of his own in the bottom half of the inning. Garrett Vail's two-run double in the sixth inning made it 12-5, while the Greys brought home four runs in the seventh to make it 12-9.

After pitching a scoreless eighth inning, Grizzlies' manager Phil Warren elected to keep Andrew Aizenstadt on for the ninth inning. Aizenstadt gave up a solo homer to Frank Florio, but then retired the Greys' Michael Vaughn on a ground out to end the ballgame. Aizenstadt picked up his first save of the season.

The Grizzlies host the Washington Wild Things tomorrow night for the start of a three-game weekend series. First pitch on Friday night is at 7:05 p.m., as Grizzlies' right-hander Tyler Thompson takes the hill.
