Grizzlies Trainer Hosler Advances To NHL

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that Athletic Trainer Andy Hosler has been named the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Nashville Predators of the NHL.

"The last two years in Salt Lake have been the best of my life; I love the state of Utah." said Hosler. "The hockey operations staff of the Grizzlies along with the whole organization at the E-Center is first-class and will always be very special to me."

"Andy is a consummate professional and is certainly very ready to advance to the NHL," said Christie. "While here he was 100-percent dedicated to the players and the organization. The Predators organization is very lucky to have him."

Prior to receiving the call from Nashville, Hosler, 27, was preparing for his third season as the Grizzlies Head Athletic Trainer. He joined Utah in 2005 from Michigan State University where he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and also earned his master's degree.

The Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, enter their third season in America's "Premier AA Hockey League." On May 22, 2007, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced an affiliation with the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Former Grizzlies Ric Jackman and Scott Niedermayer recently won the Stanley Cup as members of the Anaheim Ducks. At the start of the 2006-2007 season, 23 former Grizzlies were on NHL rosters. 12 of those former players advanced to the playoffs.

In addition, during the 2006-2007 season, the team made over 120 community appearances, including two all-team hospital visits and over 30 elementary school assemblies; while donating nearly $120,000 in cash, tickets and merchandise to charity.
