Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies will begin the first semester of their high school marketing program Monday afternoon at Hunter High School located at 4200 South and 5600 West in West Valley.

Over the course of the six-week program, the Grizzlies public relations department will meet weekly with three high school marketing classes across the valley; teaching them all aspects of running a professional sports team and covering: ticket sales, sponsorships, public relations and marketing.

The students will have the opportunity to sell tickets to a selected Grizzlies game as a fundraiser for their school, using the practices taught in the program. In addition, each school will be assigned a Grizzlies game, where the students will act as members of the Grizzlies front office in putting on the game from behind the scenes.

*We are excited to get involved with local high schools in this format,* said Adrian Denny who oversees all Grizzlies community programs. *The students are getting to the point in their lives where they will soon choose a college and begin to focus on career goals. We are excited to teach them about the sports industry and the job options it presents.*

In addition to Hunter High School, the Grizzlies high school sports marketing program will take place at Alta High School and Jordan High School.

For more information regarding this program, contact the Grizzlies public relations department at (801) 988-8017.

The Grizzlies open the regular season October 20, when they travel to downtown Phoenix for three-games-in-three-nights with the RoadRunners at US Airways Center. The home opening weekend for Utah is October 27 and 28 versus Las Vegas at the E-Center. All 2006-2007 ticket packages are on sale now by calling (801) 988-PUCK or visiting UtahGrizzlies.com.
