Grizzlies Sign QB

November 16, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Fairbanks Grizzlies News Release

The Fairbanks Grizzlies are pleased to announce the signing of Quarterback Ken Johnson from Concordia College, AL. The 6'2 200lb Johnson had a stellar career at Concordia starting all four years and earned numerous All-Southeastern Atlantic Conference honors. Johnson was a Three-time 1st Team All-SEAC selection and was twice named the Most Valuable Player. After being slowed his junior year by an injury, Johnson bounced back as a senior to earn the SEAC Player of the Year award and was selected as the South Alabama Heritage Classic Offensive MVP. Over his career Johnson passed for over 6,000 yards, rushed for over 1,000 yards, and had 350 receiving yards. He scored 61 career TD's for the Hornets and will be reunited in Fairbanks with college teammates Jamaal Stokes and Eric Taylor.

"Ken is very talented and he really fits the mold of what indoor coaches see as the ideal QB for our game. He has a quick release, he is a tremendous athlete that can buy himself time, and he is very accurate. I've been adamant about trying to get a veteran QB with indoor experience but after studying his film and getting to know him I am not as concerned about that." Stated Fairbanks Grizzlies Head Coach Robert Fuller.

The Fairbanks Grizzlies are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The 2011 season kicks off in February. Season tickets for the Grizzlies 2011 season are available for purchase. Call (907) 452-5123 for details.
