May 2, 2011 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Fairbanks Grizzlies News Release

Fairbanks, AK. In conjunction with American Tire & Auto and the Fairbanks Food Bank, the Fairbanks Grizzlies are pleased to announce that the game scheduled to be played on May 7th, 2011 on Alaska National Guard Field at the Carlson Center will be 'canned food night'. The Grizzlies with a 6-3 record will play host to division rival Tri-Cities Fever who currently boast a 7-1 record. The Grizzlies played Tri-Cities at their home field earlier in March and lost by two scores. The Grizzlies are certainly a different team now and are on a franchise record 6 game win streak. This game is sure to be exciting and certainly decisive in the overall playoff picture.

Canned food night will work in this manner: Drop off 4 non-perishable food items at either American Tire & Auto location in Fairbanks (219 3rd Ave or 3101 S. Cushman) leading up to game day on May 7th and you will receive a coupon for a buy one ticket and get one ticket of equal value for free to the May 7th Grizzlies home game against Tri-Cities. American Tire & Auto representatives will also be available at the Carlson Center on Saturday May 7th out in the parking lot from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. tailgating before the game and collecting food donations and handing out the ticket coupons. This will mark the second straight year that the Grizzlies have helped the Fairbanks Food Bank collect food donations for the community. This year our friends at American Tire & Auto have stepped up to assist in making this process a success. Our goal is to collect as much food possible and to give fans a chance to come out and cheer the Grizzlies to victory.

The Fairbanks Grizzlies are members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Call (907) 452-5123 for details. Learn more about the Fairbanks Grizzlies at www.fairbanksgrizzlies.com.
