Allen Wranglers News Release
ALLEN, TX-The Allen Wranglers have yet to walk out of Amarillo without a win, knock on wood.
The Wranglers travelled to Amarillo on Saturday, Apr. 30 and defeated the Venom 44-20. While the win was great, the highlight of the game came from defensive lineman Mike Ward. Ward caught a pass from Wrangler quarterback Kewan Dewberry and ran 35 yards to put six points on the board for the Wranglers.
"I had to go back to my high school days of fullback and tap into my skills," Ward said. "It was a great feeling and I couldn't have done it without everyone on the field, especially the offensive line."
This marked Ward's second game with the Wranglers; he ended the night with two receptions for 51 yards. Dewberry threw for five touchdowns and 285 yards. His main target for the night was wide receiver who Jason Jones had two touchdown receptions and a total of 106 yards. Wide receiver Bobby Chase knocked in the other two touchdowns for a total of 68 yards.
The Wranglers return to action on Saturday, May 7th against the Nebraska Danger. Tickets for that game are half price in honor of Mothers Day and available at the Wrangler office or Allen Event Center box office. Kickoff is at 7:05 p.m.
