Fairbanks Grizzlies News Release

The Fairbanks Grizzlies are proud to announce the hiring of Nick Hart as their Defensive Coordinator for the 2011 season. Hart brings a great deal of coaching experience with him on both offense and defense and will be a great asset to the Fairbanks Grizzlies. Hart is the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Warren Central was ranked as high as 21st in the Nation in 2011 by USA Today and was the defending 5A State Champions in Indiana.

Hart gained valuable indoor coaching experience as the Offensive coordinator and Director of Football Operations for the Evansville Bluecats in 2006 and 2007. In 2006, the Evansville Bluecats made it all the way to the UIF semi finals before losing to the eventual champion Sioux Falls Storm. Hart has also coached at the collegiate level and worked with a current Fairbanks Grizzlies player, defensive back Noah Harris while coaching Defensive Backs at Kentucky Wesleyan. Hart has been an invited guest speaker at the Glazier Football Clinics in Tennessee, Ohio, and Indianapolis as well as the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic. Hart was also a finalist for the head coach position of the IFL's Bloomington Extreme.

"I feel very fortunate to be able to bring in a coach like Nick Hart to our staff. Coach Hart is a real student of the game and I am excited to add a coach to our staff that has such a clear understanding of what it takes to be successful in this league. He is a fiery competitor and excels at getting his athletes ready to compete and win", stated Grizzlies Head Coach Robert Fuller.
