
Grizzlies Fall 3-2 In Shootout

Victoria, British Columbia - The Utah Grizzlies (30-28-1-7) were unable to hold a 2-0 third period lead and settled for one point Saturday night falling 3-2 in a shootout to Victoria. The Salmon Kings tied the game with 14.7 seconds left to go in regulation on a power-play goal.
Utah rookie goaltender Wylie Rogers set an all-time Grizzlies record with 59 saves in the game; stopping 59 of 61 shots he saw through overtime and four of five in the shootout.
The Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead in the first with Micheal Haley (11) redirecting in a Jeff Dwyer shot after Keith Johnson won a face-off.
The Grizzlies took a 2-0 lead in the third when Ryan Kinasewich fed Keith Johnson in the slot for his team-leading 26th goal of the year.
Utah though ran into penalty problems in the third as the Salmon Kings tied the game with two power-play goals late (12:11, 19:45).
In the shootout, Utah was unable to score on five attempts, being robbed on several occasions by Victoria goaltender Julien Ellis. The Salmon Kings scored the shootout's only goal in round-two with Ryan Wade lighting the lamp.
Utah was outshot 62-30 in the game.
The Grizzlies return home Wednesday to host Las Vegas at 7:05 p.m. at the E-Center.
Utah returns to the road next Saturday and Monday in Bakersfield.
