
Sea Wolves Broom Has Broken Handle, Texas Wins 5-1

BILOXI, MS - The Texas Wildcatters scored a power play goal in each of the game's three periods and added two even-strength goals as they defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves 5-1 in the third game between the two teams in as many nights.
Kevin Baker's power-play goal at 9:03 of the first period gave Texas a 1-0 lead. The Wildcatters would add to the lead in the second period as John McNabb added a pair of goals, first at 11:14 even-strength, and then on the power play at 17:53 as Texas jumped ahead to a 3-0 lead.
Jason Tejchma scored the Sea Wolves only goal at the 19:59 mark of the second on the power play, poking the puck past Texas goalie Kris Tebbs as time wound down. After conferring, the officials ruled the play a goal, deciding the puck had crossed the goal line prior to time expiring.
The Wildcatters would add insurance goals at 7:16 of the third from Brandon Benedict and on the power play at 17:09 from Kevin Baker.
Mississippi was 1-for-3 on the power play and Morgan Cey made 41 saves to earn the loss.
