
Grizzlies drop pitcher's duel

Grizzlies starter Nathan Roush tossed a complete game against the Rockford RiverHawks Wednesday night, only to lose. Roush gave up just two runs, one earned, in the loss as Rockford defeated the Grizzlies 2-0 in front of 3,163 fans at GCS Ballpark.
Roush (1-1) was out-duelded by his college (Missouri Baptist) roommate Garrett Bauer (2-0). Bauer who also attended Lafayette high school in St. Louis, went eight innings in the 'Hawks win.
The Grizzlies managed just four hits against the Rockford starter.
The two teams will meet in game two of the series Thursday night at GCS Ballpark. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Thursday night's game will be a tribute to Madison DeJarnette. Madison, from Dupo, IL, passed away at the age of 18 months due to complications from down syndrome and Moya Moya disease. Fans will have the chance to win great prizes inlcuding autographed merchandise and St. Louis Cardinal tickets. All proceeds will benefit the Albert Pujols Family Foundation.
