Grizzlies Beat Phoenix 4-1

Phoenix, Arizona - The Utah Grizzlies scored three third period goals to defeat the Phoenix RoadRunners 4-1 Thursday night at U.S. Airways Center to win their third-straight game.

After a scoreless first period, the two teams traded goals in the second period. Phoenix got their only goal of the game on a five-on-three power-play 7:29 into the second with Daniel Sisca scoring and the RoadRunners took a 1-0 lead.

Utah tied the game 3:43 later and never trailed again with James Sixsmith redirecting home an Evan Stoflet shot and the game was tied.

In the third, Utah took their first lead of the night with Stoflet passing up a feed to Ryan Kinasewich and firing the puck home from the right wing circle at 2:11 of the third and Utah led 2-1.

The Grizzlies made it 3-1 with James Sixsmith scoring his second of the night as he picked up a puck and scored shorthanded 5:31 into the period. Utah's final goal came at 11:24 with Mike Walsh redirecting home a Tim Maxwell shot for his seventh goal of the year.

Sixsmith (two goals, one assist), Stoflet (one goal, one assist), Walsh (one goal, one assist) and Ryan Kinasewich (two assists) all had multi-point games for Utah.

Mike Mole stopped 25 of 26 shots for the win in his 22nd straight start.

Utah continues their trip Friday in Phoenix at 7:05 p.m., before heading to Las Vegas for an 8:30 p.m. face-off against the Wranglers Saturday at Orleans Arena.

The Grizzlies return home Saturday, December 27 to host Idaho at 7:05 p.m. at the E-Center.
