Grizzlies Announce Training Camp Schedule

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies, proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, today released their training camp schedule for the 2007-2008 preseason. Training camp will run from Sunday, October 7 - Friday, October 12 at the Acord Ice Center and wrap up with practice at the E-Center at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 15. A detailed schedule is located at the bottom of this release.

Camp will open with practice from 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on the 7th. Starting Monday, the 8th, and running through Friday, practices will go from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Acord. All training camp practices are open to the public. The Acord Ice Center is located at 3100 South 5353 West in West Valley City.

The team will also have two preseason games versus the Victoria Salmon Kings. Friday, October 12, the teams will faceoff at 7:30 p.m. at the Park City Ice Arena. Saturday, October 13, the Grizzlies and Salmon Kings have a 7:30 p.m. start scheduled for the Acord Ice Center. For preseason game ticket information, call (801) 988-PUCK.

The Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, enter their third season in America's "Premier AA Hockey League." On May 22, 2007, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced an affiliation with the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Former Grizzlies Ric Jackman and Scott Niedermayer recently won the Stanley Cup as members of the Anaheim Ducks. At the start of the 2006-2007 season, 23 former Grizzlies were on NHL rosters. 12 of those former players advanced to the playoffs.

In addition, during the 2006-2007 season, the team made over 120 community appearances, including two all-team hospital visits and over 30 elementary school assemblies; while donating nearly $120,000 in cash, tickets and merchandise to charity.
