Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (September xx, 2007) - The legend of the infamous "Jersey Devil" has fascinated residents since the early 1700's. In the early 90s, there were numerous reports in Northern New Jersey of a large "Red" figure wearing a hockey jersey that later revealed himself as the "New Jersey Devil."

The New Jersey Devil, however, is not the only figure lurking around the state, as another mysterious creature has recently been spotted near Trenton 's Sovereign Bank Arena as well as other historic spots. Some have described the figure as a younger- looking "Devil" dressed in a hockey jersey. Others have even claimed he approached them holding a Trenton Devils game schedule in his hand pointing to October 19th, the Trenton Devils Opening Night.

The Devils are asking their fans for their help in naming this "mysterious figure." By going to www.trentondevils.com, clicking on the "Name the Mascot" banner at the top of the home page and filling out the form, fans can submit their suggestions. The Trenton Devils will be accepting submissions through Friday, September 28.

The top five names, as selected by the Devils, will then be posted on www.trentondevils.com, where fans can vote on their favorite. The winner will be chosen just prior to the start of the season and will receive two complimentary 12-game Trenton Devils ticket packages.

The Trenton Devils will open the upcoming season against the Reading Royals at Sovereign Bank Arena on Friday, October 19 at 7:30pm. Full and partial season ticket plans for 2007-08 are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
