Grizzlies announce 2005 promotional schedule

Phil Warren Bobblehead Night, Myron Noodleman, Family Happy Hours, and the return of Time Warp Tuesdays highlight the Gateway Grizzlies 2005 promotional schedule announced today.

Wednesday June 22, the Grizzlies will honor first baseman Phil Warren with a bobblehead giveaway of the All-Star Slugger. The first 1,000 fans will receive the bobble head doll courtesy of US Bank. The very next night, Thursday June 23, Popular entertainer Myron Noodleman, who has appeared each of the last four years, will return to GMC Stadium.

The Grizzlies are bringing back last year's successful Time Warp Tuesdays promotion on five Tuesdays in 2005. Pepsi will present the retro-themed nights, and provide fans with a different baseball for each night. The baseballs will feature a retro Pepsi logo from the corresponding decade.

New in 2005 are the Grizzlies Family Hours on Friday nights at GMC Stadium. During 10 Fridays in 2005, the gates will open 4:30 p.m. and allow fans access to the Great Grizzlie Grill and Kid's Zone Area. A D.J. and clowns will be on hand to entertain, and there will be different concession specials each Friday at the Grill. These Fridays will be the only time when fans will be able to watch the Grizzlies take batting practice.

"This is going to be a great season at GMC Stadium," Grizzlies Director of Promotions Corey Stephens said. "We've kept some of the things fans have come to love, and we're adding some new things that we think will be fun and exciting."

Other highlights of the Grizzlies promotional schedule include three fireworks displays. Opening Night, July 4th and the Season Finale will each feature the post-game displays. Pepsi, the Bite Me Bass Club, and Southwestern Illinois College will each present a Jersey off the Back Night, when fans will have the chance to win a game-worn Grizzlies jersey. Every Sunday game throughout the season will feature carnival rides in the kid's zone, and kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game.

The Gateway Grizzlies begin their fifth anniversary season in the Frontier League Wednesday May 25th when the defending league champions, the Rockford RiverHawks, come to town. Season tickets and mini-plans are currently on sale. Single-game tickets will go on sale in March.
