Grizzlies Acquire Forward Chris Higgins

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has acquired the rights to forward Chris Higgins from the South Carolina Stingrays to complete an earlier trade.

Higgins, 26, finished last season with two goals and eight assists for ten points in nine playoff games with South Carolina. He had four goals and six assists for 10 points in 16 games with the Stingrays during the regular season.

"With Chris, we are adding a top line scoring forward," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "We look forward to teaming him with the exciting returning forwards from last year's team."

In total, Higgins has 20 goals and 22 assists for 42 points in 57 ECHL games with Las Vegas, Gwinnett and South Carolina. He played seven games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch in 2008-2009 and also won an NCAA Championship at Boston University in 2009.
