Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (9/19/12) - The National Hockey League announced Wednesday the cancellation of all NHL preseason games through September 30. The cancellation was necessary due to the absence of a collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and its players union.
As a result, the September 25 NHL Preseason game between the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild, scheduled for CenturyLink Arena in Boise, will not take place, along with the training-camp activities that were also scheduled to take place in Boise.
The Stars organization issued the following statement: "The Dallas Stars are disappointed to not be attending Boise for this year's training camp and the scheduled exhibition game vs. Minnesota. The club remains open to a training camp hosted by the Idaho Steelheads in the future."
The Idaho Steelheads and CenturyLink Arena have made the following three options available to fans who purchased tickets to the game:
1) Receive DOUBLE the money spent on NHL tickets toward Steelheads tickets, the purchase of a suite, or toward the purchase of a new Season Ticket, Flex Plan or Mini-Plan.
2) Receive one-for-one credit toward existing Season-Ticket balances or 2013 ECHL Kelly Cup playoff tickets.
3) Receive a full refund.
Fans with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Idaho Steelheads or CenturyLink Arena at 208.383.0080.
