
Griffith and Carnegie To Participate In All-Star Game Skills Competition

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Todd Griffith will compete in three events and Rane Carnegie will participate in two as the ECHL All-Stars take the ice at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho on Tuesday, January 16, at 6:05 p.m. for the Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Skills Competition. Both players will participate in the Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game the following night.
Griffith, who is currently playing for the AHL Bridgeport Tigers, will return for the All-Star Game and take part in the "Fastest Skater" competition, the "Rapid Fire" competition, and the "Break Away Relay." Griffith is currently second among ECHL rookies with 16 goals and is tied for third in overall points for rookies with 28.
Carnegie is scheduled to compete in the "Hardest Slapshot" competition and the "Break Away Relay." Carnegie has six goals and ten assists on the season. Carnegie scored the tying goal to force overtime Friday night in Stockton with 3:12 left in the game. The Condors went on to win the game 5- 4 in a shootout.
The National Conference has won the last two Skills Competitions. In 2006, they defeated the American Conference, 15-8, in Fresno. In 2005, they skated off with a 10-9 victory in Reading, PA.
The ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will not be televised. The ECHL All-Star Game can be seen live at 6 p.m. on Jan. 17 on NHL Network and NHL Center Ice. The telecast is also available online on B2 Networks, the "Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL". The game will be seen free of charge through the ECHL web site and will be available through on-demand for one year. The telecast begins at 6 p.m. and requires a cable modem or DSL line with a minimum connection speed of 300 Kbps and Windows Media Player 9 or higher.
Join the Condors tonight as they take on the Fresno Falcons. It will be Cheer Sign Giveaway Night and Skate with the Condors. Everyone in attendance will receive a Condors Cheer Sign, compliments of the Bakersfield Californian, Bright House Networks, HOT 94.1 and Lennar Homes. Tonight's game has a special start time of 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Immediately after the game, fans can join the Condors on the ice for a Skate with the Condors. Bring your own skates, or limited skate rental will be available.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days. The box office will open at noon today. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322- 2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.
