Griffins Sign Cody Lampl

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins have signed defenseman Cody Lampl (LAM-puhl) to a professional tryout.

A native of Ketchum, Idaho, Lampl is in his fourth professional season and has registered 13 points and 92 penalty minutes in 53 games with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye this season. The 26-year-old blueliner has logged 55 points (7-48-55) and 285 penalty minutes in 203 career ECHL games with the Las Vegas Wranglers, Idaho Steelheads, Utah Grizzlies and Walleye. He also appeared in one AHL contest with Abbotsford during the 2010-11 season.

The Griffins will play three road games in three days this weekend, starting with a game tonight against Milwaukee at 8 p.m. EST. Grand Rapids will visit Peoria tomorrow at 8:05 p.m. EST before returning to Milwaukee for a rematch against the Admirals on Sunday at 4 p.m. EST.
