February 8, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - With West Michigan in the grip of winter and food supplies running low in local shelters, the Grand Rapids Griffins are introducing the "Give and Go" Food Drive. Fans who give a canned or boxed food item can go a Griffins game for just $2!
The drive will be held at the Friday, Feb. 16 game against the San Antonio Rampage and the Tuesday, March 6 contest versus the Peoria Rivermen. Each fan who brings a food item to donate on either night will receive a coupon redeemable for a $2 ticket (one coupon per food item). Items can also be brought to The Zone inside Van Andel Arena in advance of game day, from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
All collected food items, as well as 100 percent of the proceeds from the $2 tickets, will be donated to four local missions: Degage Ministries, God's Kitchen, Guiding Light Mission, and Mel Trotter Ministries.
