GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN - The Hamilton Bulldogs (31-33-1-6) extended their point streak to four games on Saturday evening, but fell to the Grand Rapids Griffins (45-21-2-4) 2-1 following a 10-round shootout at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Just over three minutes into the first period, Grand Rapids forward Andrej Nestrasil tipped a point shot by defenceman Nathan Paetsch past Bulldogs goaltender Dustin Tokarski to put the Griffins ahead 1-0. Forward Cory Emmerton had a second assist on the play.

Following a scoreless second period, Bulldogs forward Maxime Macenauer banked a puck off the skate of Griffins' goaltender Tom McCollum and in on the power play for his ninth goal of the season to tie the game, 1-1. Macenauer's game-tying goal, scored at 3:52 of the third period, was assisted by defenceman Davis Drewiske and forward Christian Thomas.

The two teams went scoreless through the rest of regulation, forcing overtime. Grand Rapids outshot Hamilton 5-1 in the extra frame, but the Griffins couldn't solve Tokarski again, resulting in a shootout.

Paetsch beat Tokarski in the 10th round of the shootout to clinch the win for the Griffins, 2-1. Grand Rapids forward Teemu Pulkkinen and Hamilton forward Patrick Holland also scored in the shootout.

Tokarski made 36 saves on 37 shots in the Bulldogs net in the loss. McCollum stopped 22 of 23 shots for the Griffins in the win.

Hamilton went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Grand Rapids went 0-for-5.
